Logoplaste Mealhada, a preform and PET container production hub for Portugal and Spain, in late 2019 went through a complete renewal of its equipment to reduce energy and its carbon foot print. This month, the Portuguese Plant, finished the implementation of a sun powered electric energy production solution. The project included the installation of 1,890 315W photo-voltaic solar panels, with 600 kW of power. This installation will allow an annual production of 800,000 kWh and reduce 500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
Gerardo Chiaia, our CEO, commented on the project:
“At Logoplaste we have innovation and sustainability embedded in our DNA. We know the work we do today, has an impact on tomorrow. When we talk about innovation and sustainability, we also talk about renewable energies, so it was with enthusiasm that we decided to invest in this project, which is in line with our Social and Environmental Responsibility Policy. ”
At Logoplaste, Sustainability is forever. It was born with the company in 1976, with our W2W (wall to wall) business model. It is present in all that we do and how we do it.
