Global sense of responsibility
Back in 2003 Logoplaste decided to invite several entrepreneurial partners to create CADIn – the first non-profit organization, seeded in Cascais, Portugal, fully dedicated to the study and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. CADIn was created as an innovative social responsibility project, driven by the will not only to do good but to do it well. It aims to be a center of excellence open to everyone.
A quarter of those attending CADIn are supported by a Social Fund. The Social Fund is made up of private donations and was created to enable access by everyone, namely low-income families or children in foster care. At CADIn, families find a team of professionals specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders who believe that each person has the right to the best possible care in order to reach their full potential.

As time has passed, and the project has proven to be a success, CADIn has grown. From having an exclusive treatment center in Cascais, it now has opened a delegation working in Setúbal to cater for communities south of Lisbon. Apart from branching out, CADIn has incorporated a larger patient segment. From treating children only, the center includes adolescents and has a specific program focused on employment of adults with disabilities.

Part of CADIn’s success rates comes from the 360º approach to all treatments, where everyone in close contact with the patient is involved. Parents, teachers, guardians, brothers, tutors, doctors, psychologists and even employers can have a role in promoting integration. Commitment and dedication is what patients, and patients’ families, find at CADIn.

CADIn’s philosophy of care

Patient centered

Each person is unique and neurodevelopmental disorders manifest differently in each individual, therefore we assess not only the patient’s clinical data but also their personal history and environment in order to be able to provide the best care.

Neurodevelopmental disorders usually affect different areas of functioning. To better respond this complexity, a team of professionals from various specialties is involved in the assessment and care of each case.

Promoting integration

Integration is a two-way street. We work along with families, schools and employers in finding ways to promote integration in each environment.

Across the lifespan

Living with a neurodevelopmental disorder poses different challenges at different stages of life. To better respond to these challenges we provide services which are specific by age group and to people of all ages.

Accessible to everyone

Lack of resources can be an impediment to care. Through a social fund, we can support the cost of care for those coming from low-income families or who are in foster care.
